A farewell with a lot of gratitude and respect.
In December 2025, we at AKOTHERM GmbH will be saying goodbye to a colleague who has accompanied and helped shape our development over the decades: Hans Weber is going into well-deserved retirement after 55 years with the company. A farewell that fills us with great gratitude – and at the same time commemorates an extraordinary professional career. Something that is almost unheard of elsewhere still exists at AKOTHERM: genuine decades-long loyalty.
Hans began his career in 1971 as a truck driver in the aluminum department at Eisen- und Baustoffe GmbH. When the aluminum branch was later continued independently under the name AKOTHERM, Hans stayed on board: He was taken on as a truck driver and was on the road for us for many years. He was not only a driver, but also the calling card of our company – in direct contact with customers and partners, he played a decisive role in shaping AKOTHERM’s image. He knew our profile systems, our customers and the processes down to the last detail – and ensured with reliability and calmness that everything arrived safely and on time.
In the mid-1990s, Hans switched to warehouse management. There, too, he contributed his experience and organizational talent, took on responsibility and became deputy warehouse manager. In this role, he was a central pillar of our logistics team for a long time – close to the people, clear in the processes and always with an eye for what was feasible. And when you’ve been on the road together for so long, it’s not just professional contacts that remain: Over the course of his professional life, the close collaboration has also resulted in genuine friendships – with customers and colleagues alike.
After Hans reached retirement age, he remained associated with AKOTHERM. Instead of retiring completely, he continued to support us in site management to this day. With his craftsmanship, reliable presence and proverbial sense of what “simply has to be done”, he kept our site in good shape and was a permanent point of contact for many of us in our day-to-day work.
We as the management and the entire team would like to thank Hans Weber from the bottom of our hearts for his loyalty, his tireless commitment and the energy he has brought to our company for more than five decades. With him, we are not only saying goodbye to a long-time colleague, but also to a piece of AKOTHERM history.
As an aluminum profile system house, AKOTHERM has stood for quality, consistency and partnership for decades. Life stories like Hans’ show that these values are not just written on paper, but are lived – day after day, for many years.
Above all, we wish Hans good health, happiness and many fulfilling moments in his new phase of life. Our doors are always open to you. Thank you, Hans – for everything!
