November 15th focused on medium-sized businesses. Our company received a special award on Namedy Castle. First place as "Family-friendly business" in the category up to 100 employees in the Mayen-Koblenz district.
In this competition a wide range of aspects were key. This included working conditions and the business culture being compatible with a work-life balance for employees. Even the programmes and instruments we use at Akotherm to counteract the shortage of skilled workers and using modern communication tools to win them over for our company were important.
The panel of judges was made up of representatives of the district administration, the business development agency, the employment agency, Jobcenter Mayen-Koblenz, Koblenz University of Applied Sciences, chamber of crafts and the chamber of commerce and industry Koblenz. At this festive award ceremony our Managing Director Frank Schneider and authorised signatory Jörg Rutkowski accepted the award from district administrator Dr. Alexander Saftig. “The prize will go to a good cause in form of donations in kind”, Mr Schneider stated.
About the competition: The district Mayen-Koblenz already successfully held competitions for family-friendly companies in 2010, which both small and large companies from various industries regularly enter. The competition is particularly focused on modern communication and a family-friendly business culture. “MYK – Zukunft mit Familie” (Future with Family) is a quite fitting headline.
