Akotherm is certified to international standards and attaches great importance to transparent communication. Our products meet all the requirements of modern, sustainable architecture – proven by environmental declarations and test certificates.

Our aluminium profile systems are designed to make an important contribution to achieving recognized building certifications – whether according to DGNB, LEED, BREEAM or other national and international standards.

Various certification options at a glance:

Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804 are available for many of our products. These make it possible to assess the environmental impact of our systems over their entire life cycle – an important basis for building certification.

German Sustainable Building Council. It certifies the outstanding fulfillment of many sustainability criteria in the areas of ecology, economy, socio-cultural and functional aspects, technology, processes and location. If the criteria above the standard are met, the DGNB awards the DGNB certificate in bronze, silver or gold. There is also the option of pre-certification in the planning phase.

The QNG is a state seal of quality awarded by the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB). It confirms that a building meets sustainable requirements – ecological, socio-cultural and economic – as well as high quality in the construction and planning process. It is awarded by accredited certification bodies after the building has been completed.

The BNB (Assessment System for Sustainable Building) is a federal instrument for the holistic assessment of construction projects in terms of ecology, economy, socio-cultural quality, technology, processes and location.
It was developed by the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) in cooperation with the DGNB and is primarily intended for public construction projects.

The EU taxonomy is a standardized classification system of the European Union that defines when an economic activity is considered environmentally sustainable.
It is part of the European Green Deal and the EU Action Plan on Sustainable Finance.

Objective: to channel capital flows into sustainable investments, prevent greenwashing and create transparency.

LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is an internationally recognized certification system for sustainable building.
It was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and is one of the most widely used sustainability seals in the building sector worldwide.

BREEAM(Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is the oldest international certification system for sustainable building.
It was developed in 1990 in the UK by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) and is now established in over 80 countries.
