As a system house for high-quality aluminum profile systems, AKOTHERM GmbH focuses specifically on aluminum – a forward-looking material that ideally combines sustainability, functionality and design. Aluminum impresses with its lasting value and high stability, even under extreme weather conditions. It is color and weather resistant and retains its aesthetic quality over the long term – without the need for costly maintenance.

Aluminum also has an excellent ecological footprint, as it can be recycled almost indefinitely without any loss of quality.

As an active member of A|U|F e. V., AKOTHERM is committed to the closed recycling loop of aluminum in the construction industry. Through the targeted use of recycled aluminum and the return of used components to the material cycle, we promote the conservation of resources and the responsible use of materials.

We are proud that our aluminum profile systems already contain a high proportion of between 70 and 80 % recycled aluminum as standard – with no “ifs and buts” and at no extra cost. At the customer’s request, we can also use an even more sustainable aluminum – X-ECO.

By using recycled material, we make a significant contribution to conserving resources and reduce the energy consumption and CO2 emissions associated with the production of new aluminum.

Akotherm GmbH actively supports the recycling cycle for aluminum promoted by A|U|F, which ensures that used aluminum parts are efficiently recycled and processed into high-quality profiles. As a committed A|U|F member, we attach great importance to the sustainable use of resources. That is why we specifically use recycled aluminum in our production. In contrast to other materials such as plastic, which lose quality when recycled, aluminum can be recycled as often as required and completely without any loss of quality. Akotherm’s aluminum systems are designed in such a way that they can be easily returned to the recycling process after use – an important contribution to the conservation of natural resources.

X-ECO is an alloy made from sustainable, low-carbon aluminum with the same mechanical and surface properties as alloys made from conventional (primary) aluminum. The difference is that up to 90% less CO2 is emitted during the production of X-ECO than with conventional aluminum produced using fossil fuels. As a result, this special alloy has a 10 times smaller carbon footprint. The sustainable production is certified, energy-optimized and resource-saving.
