Tripoli International Convention Center

The Convention Center is located in a large park with old pines and eucalyptus tress and only 35 km from the airport. The elongated cuboid is integrated into the natural surroundings and features an impressive holistic look. And yet particularly the horizontal design of the facade highlights the building’s shape.
Thanks to the flexible production technique of the AT 500 CS, combined with various mullion and transom profiles and integrating doors and windows, various opening styles could be used in the facade without losing the elegant all-glass look. Another requirement was the local thermal circumstances: At an average temperature of over 20 degrees from April to November it was important to achieve the best possible insulation. This was met by the ultra modern insulation concept of the AT 500 CS. The insulation is supported by a semi-transparent curtain mesh which keeps out the sun. Here the architects chose enough distance between mesh and glass facade to also create a colonnade which also adds to the building’s overall cooling load.
In addition, the large roof projection which continues to the ground at the corners of the building due to the curtain structures. This gives the impression of a circumferential outer shell. 8,500 sq m of stainless steel mesh – based on the colors of the desert sand – were painted in a bronze shade and stretched across 500 diamond and trapeze shaped panels. Since the panels vary in size, the irregular pattern this creates is reminiscent of tree bark and gives the building a mystic character.

Mesa Kartall

Kartall translates into “eagle” – an animal which has always stood for immortality, courage and strength. According to ancient beliefs, the eagle looks straight into the sun when it flies up, which is why it is also symbolic of pursuing great things. When planning Mesa Kartall, this thought played a significant role: In the midst of the city district on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, a project was to be realised to set new standards in modern, attractive and future-oriented residential construction.
The completed Mesa Kartall has over 300 residential units of varying sizes between 38 and 234 m2 offering the highest comfort and meeting every requirement.
All units feature modern, premium interiors, some with spacious patios, and the upper floors offer a direct view of the Sea of Marmara.
All floors have a separate garden area planned by well-known landscape architects. Sports facilities such as outdoor pool, tennis courts and much more round off the recreation and leisure amenities within the complex.
And nothing was left out when it comes to safety. From earthquake-proof reinforced concrete construction all the way to extensive fire protection measures: Everything according to the latest technical standards.
In this ultra modern residential complex for one the AKOTHERM facade system AT 500 F was used.
The classic transom/transom construction with a visible covering width of 50 mm. Completed with our window and door technology.
As a result, Mesa Kartall is impressive all around: Not only due to an absolutely contemporary, distinguished appearance and unmatched living comfort. But also due to the highest standards in terms of safety and construction – the latter due to the premium facade and window technology by AKOTHERM.
Mesa Kartall – an eagle in the truest sense of the word, a flagship of Istanbul today.
